An over-compensating husband, squabbling siblings deciding the fate of their mother, and a brother and sister trying to come to terms with their younger brother’s diagnosis of early onset dementia, form the three storylines of Arts Collective Theatre’s (ACT) Wherever It Takes You.

From the creative team who brought you “Elder Affairs and “In Flight, this solemn and poignant play beautifully captures the emotional rollercoaster experienced by both those living with dementia and those who care for them.

ACT has assembled a cast of individuals, over the age of 50, who take the audience on a turbulent journey of love, anger, and acceptance. Watch a video with our cast talking about the importance of this production here.

There are approximately 560,000 Canadians currently living with dementia. If you haven’t been directly impacted by this disease, you likely will be within the next 15 years when the number is expected to rise to more than 900,000.

Wherever It Takes You is originally conceived and directed by Chris Rabideau, and written by Linda Lord. It runs March 6, 7, 13, and 14 at 7:30pm, and March 8 and 15 at 2:00pm.  Performances will take place in the Roth Theatre at Shō Studios, 628 Monmouth Rd.  Tickets are $15 for Students/Seniors, and $20 for Adults.

Thank you to Caesars Windsor Cares for being our presenting sponsor for this moving and impactful local production.

“It is our pleasure to work with Arts Collective Theatre (ACT) in support of their program, dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the community through educational theatre-based methods by promoting inclusivity and diversity within the arts,” said Susanne Tomkins.
